Plea to capital's contractors as need intensifies
A call-out by the NHS for personal protective equipment has been issued to London-based companies and contractors, including those in the water industry.
NHS London is in urgent need of face masks, goggles, gloves and gowns. Disposable overalls would also be helpful.
The collection of items will be facilitated by the Ministry of Defence and the NHS may also send a healthcare professional to see a sample before purchasing. KPMG, supported by Arcadis, is co-ordinating the response to this initiative.
Companies that can help should email Arcadis managing director, Simon Bimpson, at simon.bimpson@arcadis.com, with a description of available equipment. This should be based on the categories in the European Centre for Disease Prevention & Control guidance document.
Photographs should be included if possible, along with the numbers of available items, a pick-up point address and phone number and site opening hours.
