Roles include being a workplace ambassador to carrying out home visits
The Rainy Day Trust needs a whole range of different volunteers to help deliver its work.
From being a workplace ambassador to carrying out home visits to some of its most vulnerable beneficiaries, the charity - and Builders' Merchants News partner - has lots of roles to help out.
You might consider being:
- a Rainy Day Ambassador at work, making colleagues aware of how the RDT can help them. The RDT will give out information packs so that you can talk to them about what it does.
- a Regional Volunteer to help fundraise from local businesses, or encouraging people at work to do things to raise money for the RDT's work. It might be co-ordinating small events, or making sure that the charity's collection tins are available at work and locally for people to support it.
- a Home Visitor, talking to those who receive regular financial help and understanding their needs to make sure the RDT is providing as much help as it can to meet its needs. The RDT will train you and give you the tools needed to carry out this vital role.
- an Office Volunteer, at the RDT's head office with data collection and analysis, prepare packs for mail-outs and if you have a specialist skill like marketing or sales, help it work up ways of spreading the word.
Volunteering for a charity is incredibly rewarding, so why not give it a go?
